Indication
- Bacterial infections (respiratory, urinary, skin) - Sexually transmitted infections - Malaria prophylaxis - Acne
Ingredients
- Doxycycline
Direction
Take orally, usually once or twice daily, with a full glass of water. Avoid taking immediately before lying down. May be taken with food to reduce stomach upset, but avoid dairy products, antacids, and iron supplements within 2-3 hours of dose.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Esophageal irritation
- Photosensitivity
Precautions
- Photosensitivity (increased sun sensitivity)
- Avoid in pregnant/breastfeeding women
- Not for children under 8 years due to tooth discoloration
- Avoid with antacids
