Indication
- Anaerobic bacterial infections - Protozoal infections (e.g., amoebiasis, giardiasis, trichomoniasis) - H. pylori eradication regimens
Ingredients
- Metronidazole
Direction
Take orally, usually with or after food to minimize gastrointestinal upset. Dosage and frequency vary based on the infection and patient condition.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Metallic taste
- Dark urine
- Dizziness
- Vomiting
Precautions
- Avoid alcohol during treatment and for at least 3 days after
- Use with caution in patients with liver impairment
- Not recommended in first trimester of pregnancy
