Indication
- Bacterial respiratory tract infections - Skin and soft tissue infections - Sexually transmitted infections - Diphtheria, pertussis, legionellosis
Ingredients
- Erythromycin
Direction
Take orally, usually 250mg to 500mg every 6 or 12 hours, as directed by a healthcare professional. May be taken with food if gastrointestinal upset occurs.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Hearing loss (rare
- high doses)
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics
- Patients with QT prolongation
- Liver dysfunction
- Significant drug interactions (e.g.
- CYP3A4 inhibitors)
