Indication
- Urinary tract infections - Respiratory tract infections - Otitis media - Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia - Gastrointestinal infections
Ingredients
- Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim
Direction
Take orally, usually twice daily with food or milk. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent kidney stone formation.
Side effects
- Nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- Skin rash
- itching
- Photosensitivity
- Headache
- Blood disorders (rare
- severe)
- Allergic reactions
Precautions
- Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides or trimethoprim
- Severe renal or hepatic impairment
- Folate deficiency
- G6PD deficiency
- Avoid during late pregnancy
