Indication
- Management of chronic alcoholism
Ingredients
- Disulfiram
Direction
Take orally, usually once daily, often in the morning. Administer under close medical supervision and ensure patient is fully aware of the disulfiram-alcohol reaction.
Side effects
- Drowsiness
- Headache
- Metallic taste
- Skin rash
- Nausea
Precautions
- Do not administer to intoxicated patients
- Avoid all forms of alcohol during treatment
- Contraindicated in severe cardiac disease
- Contraindicated in psychotic disorders
