Indication
- Chronic constipation - Hepatic encephalopathy
Ingredients
- Lactulose
Direction
Take orally, often mixed with water or juice. For constipation, usually once daily. For hepatic encephalopathy, dose is adjusted.
Side effects
- Flatulence
- Abdominal discomfort
- Nausea
- Diarrhea (high doses)
Precautions
- Galactosemia
- Intestinal obstruction
- Diabetic patients (contains sugars)
