- Fluid and electrolyte replacement - Source of calories - Treatment of dehydration - Hypoglycemia
Ingredients
- Dextrose (Glucose) and Sodium Chloride
Direction
Administered intravenously as a continuous infusion. Dosage and rate are determined by physician based on patient needs.
Side effects
- Fluid retention or swelling
- Electrolyte imbalances
- Local pain or irritation at injection site
Precautions
- Risk of fluid overload
- Monitor electrolyte levels
- Not for direct blood transfusion
