Acyclomed Aciclovir Cream 10g 5% w/w

Indication

Antiviral cream for the treatment of herpes simplex virus (HSV) infections of the skin, including cold sores (herpes labialis), and initial and recurrent genital herpes. Helps reduce the duration and severity of herpes outbreaks.

Ingredients

• Aciclovir 5% w/w (50mg/g)

Direction

Apply a thin layer to the affected area 5 times daily at approximately 4-hour intervals, omitting the night-time application. Continue treatment for at least 4 days for cold sores, or 5 days for genital herpes, or as directed by physician. For external use only.

Side effects

• Mild burning or stinging sensation at application site
• Itching or dryness of the skin
• Skin peeling or flaking
• Contact dermatitis (rare)
• Erythema at the application site (rare)

Precautions

• For external use only — do not apply to eyes

• Avoid contact with open wounds or broken skin
• Wash hands before and after application
• Start treatment as early as possible at the first sign of infection
• Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Do not freeze
• Keep out of reach of children
