Indication

Treatment of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and panic disorder with or without agoraphobia. Short-term relief of symptoms of anxiety. Management of anxiety associated with depression.

Ingredients

• Alprazolam 0.5mg

Direction

On medical prescription only. Dosage as directed by physician. Usual starting dose for anxiety: 0.25mg to 0.5mg 3 times daily. Usual starting dose for panic disorder: 0.5mg 3 times daily. Do not exceed prescribed dose. Tablets should be swallowed with water.

• Drowsiness or sedation
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Fatigue or weakness
• Memory impairment
• Impaired coordination or balance
• Dry mouth
• Changes in appetite or weight
• Blurred vision

Precautions

• Controlled substance — available on medical prescription only
• Risk of dependence and withdrawal with prolonged use — use for shortest duration necessary
• Do not stop abruptly after prolonged use — dose must be tapered gradually
• May cause drowsiness — avoid driving or operating machinery
• Avoid alcohol and other CNS depressants during treatment
• Use with caution in elderly patients (increased sensitivity
• risk of falls)
• Contraindicated in severe respiratory insufficiency and sleep apnea
• Consult doctor before use during pregnancy (risk of neonatal withdrawal) or breastfeeding
• Keep out of reach of children
