Indication
- High cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) - Prevention of cardiovascular events - Primary dysbetalipoproteinemia
Ingredients
- Atorvastatin
Direction
Take orally once daily, with or without food. Follow prescriber's instructions for dosage and duration.
Side effects
- Muscle pain (myalgia)
- Headache
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Elevated liver enzymes
Precautions
- Liver enzyme monitoring required
- Contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Risk of muscle pain and weakness (myopathy)
- Drug interactions with CYP3A4 inhibitors
