Indication
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) - Prevention of recurrent UTIs
Ingredients
- Nitrofurantoin
Direction
Take orally with food to enhance absorption and reduce stomach upset. Follow your doctor's prescribed dosage and frequency, typically multiple times daily.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Headache
- Flatulence
- Dark urine (harmless)
Precautions
- Severe renal impairment (CrCl < 60 mL/min)
- Infants under 1 month of age
- History of pulmonary or hepatic toxicity
- G6PD deficiency (risk of hemolytic anemia)
